I’ve always loved the fall season, but this year more then ever! Mostly because I’m at the age where I am hot & sweaty all the time (more than usual, lol) and the cooler air has finally helped me feel like I can be outside again without falling into a peri-menopause induced case of heat stroke. But relief from hot flashes aside - fall has more than a few good things going for it:
But even more than all of this, fall marks the time of year when my favorite dance events happen. First and foremost is Music is Art. I’ve been dancing at this event for over 15 years. This free festival is unique to Buffalo, NY and happens every September. My troupe and I always love performing new dances for this event each year. So if you missed our 20th Birthday Bash in August, never fear! You can see our new piece “November Rain” live at Music is Art at the end of our set with House of Hips from 8:30-9:30pm on Saturday, September 12th on the Tunnel Stage. I also love performing at Halloween shows. From vampires and witches, to the Matrix and Game of Thrones, our Halloween performances have been some of the best! They’re a great opportunity to try something new, push myself creatively, and combine my favorite things with dance. And lastly, fall usually means new classes & students at the studio - and this year is no exception! We have new instructors, new classes, and so many new faces joining our community of students. So if you are feeling that you: - Want to meet new friends - Need an excuse to get out of the house - Want to do something for yourself Then our studio is for you! And if you are curious about what our classes are like, how our students feel after class, or if I really am that much of a nerd (spoiler alert - I am!), then stop by one of our performances this fall and witness it for yourself. I can’t wait to see you!
